Mosembro
Mosembroという、microformatsに対応したブラウザが元日に公開されていたようですね。
Mosembro is a simple proof of concept web browser for the Android mobile platform which demonstrates how semantic markup (in this case microformats) can be used to massively improve the mobile browsing experience.
Mosembro currently has support for three different features based on microformats.
These features are:
- adding events to Google calendar
- displaying addresses using Android’s built-in maps application
- providing a consistent search dialog for searching whole web sites
残念ながらAndroidを搭載した携帯電話を所有しているわけではないので、手元では実験できないのですけど、これは非常に楽しみな展開になってきました。Mosembroは、microformatsに「ネイティブで」対応した、初めてのWebブラウザを名乗ることになるのかな？
かねてより、入力系の貧弱な環境ほどmicroformatsの利点は活かされるだろうとの論はあったのですけど、Mosembroのダウンロードサイト上では、標準のブラウザ（Chrome Lite？）を使った場合と同じ結果を得るのに時間が6分の1に短縮できた、というのを動画で比較しています。なぜ住所情報をコピペしないのだろう？Android携帯ってiPhoneと違って普通に文字をコピペできたんじゃないの？というのが気になりますが（追記：本人曰く無理らしい）、それでも1クリックでMapsアプリに情報を渡せてしまうほうが圧倒的に高速かつ便利ですよね。コンセプト実証が第一義のブラウザとはいえ、hCardに対応してアドレス管理にも一役買うところをデモできると、携帯×microformatsがより一層注目されるハズ。

風邪のついでに録画消化（謎
千葉の実家から戻った2日の晩、嫁さんの実家で義父母と夕食をご一緒した後で、急速に体調が悪化。早寝をしたものの、翌朝から発熱＆下痢＆嘔吐の3連コンボに見舞われ、最近流行していると思しき風邪を引いてしまったことが判明。水分補給だけは怠らずに寝続けて、なんとか回復。昨年の秋から冬にかけて、どんなに仕事が忙しく会社に3連泊しようとも、体調は崩していなかったぶん焦りましたが。そんな最中、昨年のうちに録画しておいたテレビ番組を3つ消化：
- NHK プロフェッショナル 仕事の流儀 第82回 ウェブデザイナー・中村勇吾（2008年4月1日放送）
- 今まで見てなかったのかよ！！という感じですが、見る機会を逃したままズルズルと今に至った感じ。本筋とは違うところ、たとえばオフィスの内装だったり、机の上だったり、yugopさんが使ってる液晶ディスプレイの型番などに注意が向いて仕方なかったとかいう。試行錯誤を繰り返しながらもそれを楽しむスタンスは、是非見習わせていただきたい。
- NHKスペシャル 月と地球 46億年の物語 〜探査機かぐや 最新報告〜（2008年10月13日放送）
- とても分かりやすい構成で、地球と月という2つの天体の歴史、過去に織りなしたドラマを伝えていたと思いました。春山純一氏のチームだったか、クレータの抽出を目視で行っているという話に興味を惹かれました。単純に、そんな日が暮れそうなことをなぜ機械で処理しないのか？という理由付けが弱く聞こえたのと、面白そうだから僕もやってみたいって思っただけなんですが。

生まれたときにまだインターネットは存在していなかった僕は、明らかにデジタルネイティブではないのだけど、デジタルネイティブな人々（いちばん身近なところでは息子）との接点が次第に増えてくるであろう今後を考えるきっかけとしては、見て良かったかな。デジタルネイティブの特性として以下の3項目が挙げられていたけど、これはこれで一種のエントロピー増大則に基づく流れだったりするのかしら、と思ったり。
- 現実とネット 区別しない
- 情報は“無料”と考える
- 年齢・肩書き・所属 重視しない
